Special Live Performance by Disco / Dance Diva Cynthia Manley! DJ Paul Goodyear (SanFranDisko) Spinning a great selection of Nu Disco / Classic Disco and Upfront House! Cynthia Manley the petite and powerful performer that can steal your heart in one moment and then turn around and melt you with her passion… She'll send a shiver up your spine, causing what Quincy Jones aptly described as “truth marks”, singing stories as though she were talking just to you. Cynthia sings in the “Blue Eyed Soul” tradition. As the original and only touring lead singer for the Boys Town Gang, she has become a legend within the dance community. Her performance record in America is hard to match. She has performed in every major city many times over as well as being invited to small town venues and lounges. Whether singing for a small number of music lovers or thousands of cheering fans, she gives 100%, of herself when performing. Cynthia will be supported by DJ Paul Goodyear playing all night. Won't you follow us down to Where Love Lives..... This week, D1 Music releases its next fiery track from disco diva Kimberly Davis, “Speak No Evil”.
It marks the label’s fourth collaboration with the lead singer of Nile Rogers’ band Chic. The previous three single releases have all been Billboard hits. This latest is a remake of a 1985 song released by the Australian rock band Dragon, inducted into ARIA Hall of Fame in 2008. Marc Hunter, the band’s lead singer, died from esophageal cancer in 1998. His brother, Todd, plays bass guitar on Davis’ track as a tribute to his brother. Kimberly Davis’ “Speak No Evil” releases to iTunes and all major online music retailers today! Along with the original D1 Music mixes, the remix package includes interpretations from dance superstars Paul Goodyear, DJ Raphael, DJ Drew G & Brian Cua, Klubjumpers, and David Tee. https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/speak-no-evil/id924267347 The Second Installment of Where Love Lives at Beatbox on September 27 was a roaring success.
"Where Love Lives" was a real San Framily Affair, with friends new and old. Many Trocadytes, danced with our gorgeous falggers and new club kids. Ms Pattie Brooks brought the house down performing a 20 minute medley of her biggest club hits - a stunning performance. DJs Steve Fabus and Paul Goodyear made the perfect music selection and made sure everybody stayed on the dance floor until the very end. We'll be back for another installment in the new year. Watch this Space! Out Now on Juno Downloads - the new compilation from Handshakes including tracks by Alan Mooney, Funk Hunk, Cookie Dough, Chewy Rubs, Me and more!

I first had the privilege of working with Lonnie on her 1997 hit - A God That Can Dance. She sure has a pedigree! An inimitable, beloved clubland diva with a global chart pedigree stretching back 25 years, Lonnie Gordon is a force to be reckoned with. She’s done it all, from the Harlem Apollo to the Cirque du Soleil in Vegas, with smash hit collaborations with Stock Aitken Waterman and Black Box along the way. HAPPENIN’ ALL OVER AGAIN - UK #4 / USA #1 dance GONNA CATCH YOU - UK #32 / USA #1 dance LOVE EVICTION - UK#32 BAD MOOD - USA #1 dance DO YOU WANT IT? - USA #5 dance DIRTY LOVE - USA #6 Dance UK #32 but NO, IT’S NOT OVER... ’COS RIGHT NOW, YOU’RE GETTING HORNY 2014 finds her celebrating her story so far, with Happenin' All Over Again: The Very Best of Lonnie Gordon, her first-ever double CD career retrospective, lined up for UK release via Cherry Red Records later in the year. It will include all the classics hits plus rare material alongside sought-after club cuts and brand new remixes. Up front though, there's a hot new hit: Horny. In 7" form, it’s a slice of saucy pop fun, tongue firmly in cheek and a video to match. Lonnie tells us: ‘When I heard the track, I knew it was the perfect choice as a new single to feature on the Best Of. I love the live sax, which gives it some of the same vibe as ‘Gonna Catch You’ and ‘Bad Mood’. Right back to ‘Love Eviction’, too, there’s always been drama and attitude in the lyrics of my songs, and ‘Horny’ has a fun take on that theatricality. The recording and video came together so spontaneously, it felt right. Plus I loved the title...’ Horny comes equipped with a mix to heat up every dance floor, courtesy of Ministry mainstay Paul Morrell, SanFranDisko legend Paul Goodyear, Stormy, Paul Hawkins and Chicago’s Rob Flawless. As befits a track from a lady whose discography reads like a who’s who of remix culture, there’s even an acappella for DJs and fans to play with. ‘We figured, let them get hands-on with this one. I love hearing what different people come up with... have fun!’ A renowned live act, Lonnie is excited to incorporate Horny into her show. She’s also thrilled to be playing London’s legendary Pheasantry on 6th and 7th May - her first ever UK dates with her own band. Lonnie’s hits will feature alongside her take on classics which have influenced her. The theme is the resilience of the human spirit; something Lonnie knows all about. ‘I’m lucky. I wake up each day, and I’m still doing what I love. That‘s good enough for me!’ The remix package for Horny is out March 10th on Gordon Records, via iTunes and Amazon. https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/horny/id833654184 Lastly - Be sure to keep a look out for a new single that I am producing with Lonnie Gordon - out this Summer! Oh what a day! The most beautiful outdoor party in the world and where I finally got to play alongside the legend that is Joey Negro! I'm so grateful I live the life that I do. Thanks to Jamie Sciban and Rob Davis for these fab shots!
